The Stallions

ERISKAY
AUCHENBROOK KESTREL born 1995 is black, he has all the style and spirit you could wish for and produces very classy offspring. We have retained three of his fillies as brood mares. Kestrel is fully matured with strong quarters which give him his flowing paces.

CRAIGGIE SGOTH AIRGID. We have owned him since 1997 he is very affectionate and loves attention. Craiggie Sgoth Airgid born 1998 is still very dark grey, he has fulfilled his early promise and has grown into a super pony with outstanding presence coupled with a lovely nature which he is passing on to his foals. This will only be his third breeding year. He is close coupled and with a straighter shoulder than most Eriskays looks a lot taller than his twelve hands. He has a wealth of mane and tail and high stepping action.

SCALPAY SCALPAY was born in 1994 on the small Island of Scalpay he then went to Aberdeen then to Orkney from where we bought him. By the time we got him back here (via Inverurie and Oban) he had been travelling for several days and when we turned him out he promptly escaped and galloped back into the trailer! This was the only time he ever caused us any bother, he was the quietest most laid back pony. We sold him as we have had nine foals from him and have retained his son Assainte as his replacement.
Tragically Scalpay died within a few weeks of reaching his new home of grass sickness.

LOCHOIR ASSAINTE was born in 2001. Like his father he is slow to mature. Right from the start he has always been friendly and easy to manage, I think he learnt his good manners from his father who he lived with until he was two. His dam’s line (we own his grandmother as well as several aunts) has produced some beautiful ponies. He is the ideal child’s pony and we are confident that he will pass these characteristics on to his offspring. He has bred three colts so we are hoping for a filly this year.

SHETLAND
KERSWELL DOLLAR was born in 1995 in Devon. He has the pedigree that we wanted. He is smaller than most of our mares and comes from a line that produces palominos. He is a very showy pony; he has a neat head with a thick, long mane and tail, good shoulders and quarters and energetic paces. He is never nasty and very solicitous towards his mares. We have had lots of lovely foals from him.
